The Irish Examiner has run a news piece on the work being carried out by Dr. Domenico Zito in MCCI developing the worlds first single-chip phased array radiometer for early cancer detection. The fact that it is so small and cheap could allow it to be used in a hand-held device for early cancer screening. As the chip emits no radiation it is completely safe and could be used much more widely for screening.
